How We Work<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At Elementalite, we never ask anyone “why do you feel this way?”<\/p>

Because the most honest answer to that question rarely arrives through words. The body knows \u2014 but the body doesn’t speak. It moves.<\/p>

In our work, we use four tools. These are not techniques \u2014 they are invitations. No one needs to know their names. No one needs to do them correctly. Simply being present is enough.<\/p>

The quality of movement.<\/strong> Rudolf Laban’s movement analysis helps us notice how the body moves \u2014 heavy or light, sudden or sustained, direct or indirect. This noticing gradually builds a kind of bodily literacy. A quiet way of knowing yourself.<\/p>

Space and relationship.<\/strong> Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints approach explores how movement relates to others and to the environment. Tempo, distance, shape, gesture \u2014 these are not concepts, they are questions. “Where are you right now? How close are you to another?”<\/p>

Emotion and form.<\/strong> Drawing from Plutchik’s wheel of emotions, we explore expressing feelings not through words but through posture and movement. Discovering what shape an emotion takes in the body is the most direct way of recognizing it.<\/p>

Play.<\/strong> The control mechanism loosens in play. Play is the moment we look most honestly at the things we thought were so serious. That is why play at Elementalite is not a tool \u2014 it is a door.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What About the Elements?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fire, earth, air, and water are not used as a system or a teaching.
They function as a language that carries experience.<\/p>

At times as a sense of weight<\/strong>,
at times as acceleration<\/strong>,
at times as dispersion or settling<\/strong>.<\/p>

The elements are not explained.
